BLESSING
There is power in a blessing, Isaac: "Then who is it who was just here
with venison, and I have already eaten it and blessed him with
IRREVOCABLE blessings?"--Genesis 27:33. Aaron was commanded by God to
call down His blessings upon the people with this prayer; "May the Lord
bless and protect you: may the Lord's face radiate with joy because of
you: may He be gracious to you, show you his favor, and give you His
peace." ---Numbers 6:24-26. I first heard about blessing your children
in a book by Gary Smalley and John Trent called appropriately, The
Blessing. Yet like many of the people I try to share the principles in
this book with, I failed to put it into practice until I reached
DESPERATION. Hint: don't make the same mistake. A huge benefit of
blessing your children and praying out loud for them is that they hear
your love and concern for them. Years ago, my husband wasn't comfortable
praying out loud with me. Now, when he prays over me, I am astounded at
the things he prays. I never had any idea that he thought those
wonderful things about me, or that he was so concerned with my life.
It's the same for our children. They come to realize that you think
about them in ways they never understood before.

"Whenever you enter a home, give it your blessing. If it is worthy of
the blessing, the blessing will stand; if not, the blessing will return
to you."--Luke 11:34. This is an example of God being the judge. He gets
to decide who is worthy of the blessing. I make it a habit to pray
blessing and salvation to everyone I see walking down the street. Part
of this is because I know the blessings will return to me if they are
not worthy of it, and that means more for me. All right, so I'm a little
greedy, but I try to hunger for the right things. "We have all benefited
from the rich blessing he brought to us - blessings upon blessings
heaped upon us!"--John 1:16.

When we are praying a blessing over our children, we might also in the
same prayer come against or bind any demonic forces that might be at
work in their lives. One example would be: Lord, I pray that you would
bind the spirits of anger, rebellion and disobedience in so-in-so. And I
also pray that you would bless them with obedience, joy and the peace of
the Holy Spirit. This way, the child is unaware that spiritual warfare
is being done over them and it keeps from drawing undue attention to the
child.

Here is a modification of the prayer that Jacob prayed over Joseph: May
you be an honor to my name and unto the Lord. May the God of your
fathers, the Almighty, bless you with blessings of heaven above and the
earth beneath, blessings reaching to the utmost bounds of the
everlasting hills.

And Melchizedek blessed Abram with this blessing: "The blessings of the
supreme God, Creator of heaven and earth, be upon you..".--Genesis
14:20. How do you think your kids would feel if you prayed like that
over them? How would you feel? Pretty important huh? No inferiority
complexes here.

On a humorous note, after Pharaoh says to Moses, "Get out!", he then
adds, "...and oh, give me a blessing as you go."--Exodus 12:32.

Back To School Prayer from Every Day I Pray for My Teenager by Eastman
Curtis.

Heavenly Father, I ask you to put a consuming desire for wisdom into my
children. As they set their hand to attain wisdom, thank you for
promoting and prospering them because they have the mind of Christ.

Thank you that their skills, abilities and knowledge come form you. Let
my children's desire for academic achievement be fully satisfied because
of his diligence.

I pray that they will practice obedience -really trying-not only when
others' eyes are on them but at all times with sincerity of heart and a
genuine reverence for your ways.

I pray they will work with all of their hearts in their studies because
they are really working for you and not for men. You, and you alone,
establish the work of their hands, allowing your favor to rest upon them
in all they do. Let them see the fruit of their studies, and encourage
them through the enjoyment of their labor. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Special Ministry Intercessors Report/Request

Please Pray as the Lord Leads

#1. I have just been released by my church to to lead a seven month
class for women on the subject of Healing the Father Wound. The class
will begin in early October and will be filled with hurting needy women.
Please pray that the Holy Spirit touches and delivers these women in
ways that are far beyond my ability.

#2. Please pray for protection and provision for my family as the enemy
often tries to come in when the Lord is about to do something like I
believe he is going to do through the Healing the Father Wound class.
Also please continue to pray for spiritual revelation in my husband and
the restoration of our marriage.

#3. Pray that God will get the book he had me write, A Believer's Guide
to Deliverance for Children, into the hands of people who need it. Also
pray for the provision to repair the printer that is used to print the
books. I am running low on copies and have no means to print more at
this time.

Thank you so much and may God richly bless you all.

Our Mission

Can any one of us, parent, grandparent, teacher, pastor, afford our children less protection than to entrust them to a Holy God? Dedicating them to Him is not enough. We must take them before His throne daily. This essential part of protecting our children takes only moments a day, and this newsletter is dedicated to showing you how and encouraging you to do it once you know how.

Our plan is to teach and encourage the new praying parent as well as the mature. So it doesnít
matter if you have an infant or a grandchild, we will gear an article that is relevant to you at some
point.

I hope that you all will enjoy knowing that we have people signed up from Australia, Canada,
Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Zimbabwe as well as from all over the great U.S.A. If you are
from another part of the world, e-mail me and I will announce it in our next issue.
